The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum has been in operation in Hannibal, Missouri since 1912.  The mission of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum is to promote awareness and appreciation of the life and works of Mark Twain and to demonstrate the relevance of his stories and ideas to citizens of the world. We are open seven days a week throughout the year. Closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Open 9-5 Daily

Take a step back in time, Rockcliffe Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places. Tour a turn-of-the-century mansion. Rockcliffe Mansion is a 13,500 sq.ft grand residence built on a 4 acres overlooking the Might Mississippi River and the historic town of Hannibal. Built between 1898 and 1900 by lumber baron John J. Cruikshank, Jr. with his wife and four daughters, the family lived in Rockcliffe until 1924. Decorated int he Art Nouveau style, popular from 1890 - 1910, most of the original antique furnishings and fixtures are preserved and on display. The Mansion is filled with rich mahogany, oak and walnut appointments, magnificent Palladian windows and the finest interior decorations from America and Europe.  Numerous architectural  features can never again be duplicated. After being abandoned for 43 years,  Rockcliffe Mansion was saved just days before demolition was to begin. Stop by today to see the 30 rooms now available for public viewing.
