May 25, 2013 - Memorial Lantern Float - In honor of loved ones, decorate a lantern and release it into the Mississippi during this touching ceremony at Nipper Park. Reserve your lantern by calling the James O'Donnell Funeral Home at 573-221-8188. Lantern decorating from 7-8pm. Lantern release at 8 pm. Free and open to all nationalities and religious beliefs.

June 24, 2013 - Hemmings Motor News' The GREAT RACE will make an overnight stop in Hannibal as the racers compete on a nine day time/speed/distance road rally! Cars built prior to 1969 are eligible, with most entries having been manufactured before WWII. 2012 entries included at 1907 Renault and a 1914 Model T. Come out to welcome teams from 100 classic and vintage cars as their arrive in historic downtown. Meet and greet the drivers and their navigators. Day-long activities will begin at 10a.m. There will be a car show, variety of vendors, swap meet, performers. Winners of the race will receive $50,000 of the $150,000 total purse, based on 100 entries. Once in Hannibal, cars will stay parked for several hours to allow spectators to visit with the participants and to look at the cars.
