Day 1
6:00 PM - Arrive in Hannibal, board bus and depart for the beautifully restored Star Theatre for Dinner
and a Classic Movie (family-owned and restored – owners will gladly talk about the theatre’s restoration
if you’d like)
8:30 PM - Check-in to hotel

6-8:00 AM - Breakfast at hotel
8:30 AM - Depart for downtown Hannibal
9:00 AM - Hannibal City tour on Hannibal Trolley
10:15 AM - Begin tour of Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Properties
11:45 AM - Lunch at Lulabelle’s
1:00 PM - Museum Gallery Building & special curator talk on Norman Rockwell paintings
2:00 PM - Mark Twain Cave Tour - Tom & Becky will welcome the group at the cave, pass out Hannibal welcome bags. (Complimentary service for groups)
3:15 PM - Stop in at Sawyer's Creek Fun Park for some great fudge and a souvenir

10:00 AM - Free time downtown before departing – enjoy shopping in the historic district, explore our Big River Train Town toy train museum, the Tom Sawyer Dioramas, or visit with the locals at our popular downtown coffee spots
11:30 AM - Stop by the Mark Twain Dinette for rootbeer floats before departing (made with homemade rootbeer!)
An Experiential Day Trip
10:00 AM Mark Twain Cave Tour – Enjoy a tour of the cave that Twain made famous in his book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer! There are also several souvenir shops and your group can arrange a candle-carving demonstration for those not wishing to tour the cave.
11:00 AM Head to Historic Downtown Hannibal for some shopping therapy! Main Street has something for everyone, from fine chocolates, to arts and antiques…even a pet boutique! You can also give your group the option of going through the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum. This self-guided tour allows your group to explore the roots of Mark Twain’s genius. The tour includes 7 buildings, most notably the world famous Mark Twain Boyhood Home.
12:00 PM Let your group ‘chose their own culinary adventure’ by letting them pick their favorite restaurant downtown. With over a dozen family-owned places to chose from, there is something for every palate.
1:30 PM Enjoy a relaxing and informative sightseeing cruise aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. Return to the days of riverboats as you enjoy a one-hour tour of the Mighty Mississippi. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase onboard.
3:00 PM Get ready for a tour of the ‘other’ side of Hannibal with the Haunted Hannibal Ghost Tour! enjoy a spine-tingling guided tour of many of Hannibal’s most notoriously haunted sites, both past and present! You'll hear stories of murder and mischief during Mark Twain’s boyhood, meet the present-day ghosts of the mansions on Millionaires' Row, and learn which buildings on historic Main Street are purported to be haunted. Each tour includes a guided exploration of Old Baptist Cemetery where you'll walk amongst the graves of slaves and civil war soldiers to search for signs of paranormal activity!
5:00 PM Have dinner at one of Hannibal’s fine restaurants before departing
Mark Twain’s Hannibal
10:00 AM Arrive in Hannibal at the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Interpretive Center. There, Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher will greet your group, pose for pictures and hand out welcome bags (all of this free of charge!) Hop off bus for quick restroom break.
10:30 AM Begin tour of Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Properties. This self-guided tour allows your group to explore the roots of Mark Twain’s genius. The tour includes 7 buildings, most notably the world famous Mark Twain Boyhood Home. You may also take in a bit of shopping in Hannibal’s downtown historic district.
12:00 PM Lunch downtown. Some options include: Old Planter’s, a family-owned downtown staple for over 30 years, famous for their homemade pie; Lulabelles’, a bordello turned B&B and restaurant, and many more locally owned places!
1:30 PM Finish up your tour of the Museum Gallery, the last building on the Mark Twain Museum Tour, which features 15 original Norman Rockwell paintings.
2:00 PM Enjoy a lecture by the Museum Curator on the Mark Twain topic of your choice. *not available to the general public
3:00 PM Check-in to hotel for some R&R and to freshen up for the evening.
5:45 PM Head to the Mark Twain Riverboat for the evening dinner cruise. Enjoy a relaxing 2 hr. dinner cruise aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. Return to the days of steamboating as you enjoy your dinner and live musical entertainment, perfect for dancing!
8:15 PM Return to hotel
Day 2
Morning Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel. (We will also be happy to help with restaurant ideas if you prefer.)
8:45 AM Hop onto the bus to head down to Mark Twain Cave
9:00 AM Hear the fascinating story of Missouri’s oldest showcave. Mark Twain played in this cave as a child and it features prominently in his classic The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Your group can also do a mini-tour of the cave; a slimmed down version of the typical 1 hr. guided walking tour. *The mini-tour is offered only to groups.
10:00 AM Enjoy Jim Waddell as Mark Twain. Veteran performer and raconteur Jim Waddell personifies the mischievous humor of America’s most beloved author. Offered especially for groups, Jim will include a question and answer session after the show and is always happy to pose for pictures.
11:00 AM Grab an early bite to eat at one of Hannibal’s many fine restaurants before departing to Florida, MO.
1:00 PM Arrive at the Mark Twain Birthplace Museum. See the cabin where Mark Twain was born and explore the many exhibits in this museum run by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
2:30 PM Stop by the Mark Twain Lake visitor center to learn more about the fascinating history behind the lake and take in some wildlife sightseeing on their magnificent viewing area. Rotating exhibits promise hands-on learning opportunities! The visitor center is also the site of the Northeast MO Vietnam Memorial. (free)
3:15 PM Depart for Hannibal
4:00 PM Return to the hotel for a bit of R & R
5:00 PM Head for the beautifully restored Star Theatre for Dinner and a Classic Movie. The theater is family-owned and restored, and the owners will gladly talk to your group about the theater’s restoration before the show. Choose from a wide selection of classic movies to entertain your group, or groups of 30 or more, a live performance option is also available. *Only available for groups.
8:15 PM Return to hotel
Day 3
Morning Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel. (We will also be happy to help with restaurant ideas if you prefer.)
8:45 AM Hop onto the bus to head to Rockcliffe Mansion
9:00 AM Tour Rockcliffe Mansion, one of America’s Castles! This turn of the century mansion overlooks the Mississippi and contains many original furnishings. The mansion is also notable for the fact that Mark Twain spoke from the grand staircase in 1907 during his last visit to Hannibal. Your group will enjoy a docent guided tour of the mansion.
10:00 AM Allow your group a bit of time to take in the downtown area on their own. Enjoy a wide array of options on Historic Main Street. From art to antiques, jewelry to gelato, the family-owned stores downtown are sure to delight. Visitors can also explore the Hannibal History Museum, located right downtown. It is free admission.
