Event Details

How far can your frog jump?  Will your frog be the champion?  Find out here!  This contest is as fun to watch as is it is to participate – especially when the ‘talent’ goes hopping into the audience!

Registration for the frog jump contest will start at 10:00 am and the contest will begin at 12:00 pm. There will be two categories, 5 years of age and younger or 6 years and older. The frog may be one the child has captured for the contest or participants can rent a frog from the Boy Scouts for a $3.00 donation. (The ‘frog jump’ frogs will then be released into their natural habitat after the contest.) Three prizes are awarded for each age division.

The Frog Jump Contest is based on Mark Twain’s first popular short story, “The Celebrated jumping Frog of Calaveras County.” While living in Angels Camp, California, Twain heard the wonderful tale and wrote it down for later publication.
