Three Day Itinerary

Day 1

6:00 PM    Arrive in Hannibal and head for the beautifully restored Star Theatre for Dinner and a Classic Movie or live stage performance or mystery dinner theater (if available).  The theater is family-owned and restored, and the owners will gladly talk to your group about the theater’s restoration before the show.

8:30 PM    Check-in to hotel

Day 2

6-8:00 AM    Breakfast at hotel

8:30 AM    Depart for downtown Hannibal

9:00 AM    Hannibal City tour on Hannibal Trolley or a step-on guide.  Both of these services give your group a great 1 hour narrated tour of Hannibal’s many sights, including scenic outlooks, famous landmarks and beautiful historic homes.

10:15 AM    Begin tour of Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Properties.  This self-guided tour allows your group to explore the roots of Mark Twain’s genius.  The tour includes 7 buildings, most notably the world famous Mark Twain Boyhood Home. (Docent led tour also available for an extra fee)

11:45 AM    Lunch at Old Planter’s, a family-owned downtown staple for over 30 years, famous for their homemade pie!

1:00 PM    Tour the Museum Gallery Building, the last building on the Boyhood Home tour, and enjoy a special talk on the museum’s collection of 15 original Norman Rockwell paintings by a museum curator

2:15 PM    Return to hotel for some R&R before the evening

4:30 PM    Depart for Mark Twain Himself performance downtown

5:00 PM    Mark Twain Himself theater performance.  This performance will return you to the days of Mark Twain’s famous stage performances.  Actor Richard Garey brings Twain to life in this entertaining show with hilarious comedy and heartwarming drama.

6:15 PM    Enjoy a relaxing dinner cruise aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat.  Return to the days of riverboats as you enjoy your dinner and live musical entertainment, perfect for dancing!

8:30 PM    Return to hotel

Day 3

6-8:00 AM    Breakfast at hotel

8:45 AM    Depart for Rockcliffe Mansion

9:00 AM:    Tour Rockcliffe Mansion, one of America’s Gilded Age Mansions!  This turn of the century Mansion, built high above the City, has spectacular views of the Mississippi, Lover’s Leap, and the historic City below, and contains many furnishings, fixtures and personal effects of the original family.  Enjoy a docent-led guided tour and marvel at the wonders of this grand mansion.

10:30 AM    Mark Twain Cave Tour – Enjoy a tour of the cave that Twain made famous in his book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer!  There are also several souvenir shops and your group can arrange a candle-carving demonstration for those not wishing to tour the cave.

Noon    Lunch downtown at a family-owned restaurant!

1:00 PM    Free time downtown before departing – shop to your heart’s content in Hannibal’s historic downtown

4:00 PM    Head back to the hotel for a bit of R & R before evening

6:30 PM    Dinner at a local downtown restaurant

8:00 PM     Hop on board the Hannibal Trolley for a ‘Haunted Hannibal’ tour; learn the stories of unsolved murders, meet the Ghosts of local B&Bs and businesses, and use ghost-busting tools on this fun and informative tour.  It’s Hannibal as you’ve never seen it before!

10:00 PM    Return to hotel
