Christmas has come and gone and 2017 has snuck up on us. Are you looking for ways to spend time with your friends and family in the New Year? Hannibal has plenty of opportunities to be with friends and family whether it is exploring the parks, enjoying food or experiencing art downtown.
If you enjoy nature and cold weather, bundle up and head out to the Sodalis Nature Preserve. Not only does it make for great photography, but the preserve is an excellent place to take the family to enjoy the beauty of the bat caves and the warm air that spews from each cave.
Even if you don’t want to get out into the cold weather there are still options for you. On January 28th, drop in and vote for your favorite wings at the Hannibal Jaycees Wing Ding. Not only will you have superb food and drink, but you’ll be in great company. If wings aren’t your thing, come on out February 18th to taste test different chili recipes from all around the area. The 34th Annual Chili Cook Off will be a great opportunity to sample good food and enjoy time with family and friends.
Another great way to spend time with your friends in 2017 is with the 2nd Saturday Gallery Walk. Every 2nd Saturday for 12 months, Hannibal’s art galleries stay open late for an evening of art, food, wine and fun. This will not only give you a night out with friends, but something to look forward to each month.
So call up those friends and mark your calendars for weeks full of entertainment that you do not want to miss! Whether it be indoors or out there are plenty of things for you to do to start your 2017 year with an abundance of cheer.
